anchoring down
life coaching to become a good steward of your life
"Being a good steward of your life means that you are not using spirituality to avoid any aspect of yourself or your life. I have observed that it is very common for people involved in spirituality to unconsciously use it to avoid painful, troubling, dysfunctional, or fearful aspects of themselves or their lives. (...) While it is true that with the dawning of awakening many of what we regard as problems simply disappear, it would be wrong to assume that a taste of awakening automatically resolves every challenging aspect of human life."
-Adyashanti, "The way of liberation"
4 types of practices
1
emotional
regulation
3
healthy sense of self
2
connection with your body
4
mature relation-ships
Anchoring down supports you in improving your:
-
emotional regulation
-
connection with your body
-
healthy self-development (stable identity, positive self-esteem, sense of agency)
-
developing healthy and mature relations
Why is this relevant and necessary?
If you master the skills above, you are less likely to fool yourself into spiritual bypassing or spiritual materialism. In addition, you reduce the likelihood of getting lost or ending up in abusive or retraumatising situations.
Instead, you learn to face challenges with adaptive coping strategies—such as calming down, problem-solving, facing conflict and information seeking—leading to a life that fits you. As a result, you will have fewer distracting emotions and thoughts that might otherwise interfere with your meditation or other spiritual practices.
Anchoring down will be distributed over multiple weekend workshops. During each workshop we will touch all skills. However, depending on your current level of development, one weekend will probably not suffice to become proficient in all domains. Anchoring down is a long term development, potentially supplementing weekend workshops with individual psychotherapy and life coaching.
Welcome to this path of healing.

3 program pillars
level 0: anchoring down
overview full immersion program
Foundational preparation: we support you in developing a healthy sense of self, the ability to regulate your emotions, and the meta-cognitive and collaborative skills to establish healthy, mature relationships. Why is this relevant and necessary? At the core of everything we do at house of the beloved is being different together. That means to deeply connect with each other by expressing our own way of being human, and allowing and supporting others to do the same. However, expressing your own way of being human is not available to everyone. Some people don’t know who they are and what they want. Some find it too scary to show themselves. Some are too busy taking care for others, that they forget about themselves. Some are afraid of the intensity of their own emotions. Some never learned to look at themselves and understand how they function. All these challenges will interfere with the practices of HOTB, including meditation and authentic presence Level 0: anchoring down has 3 pillars: First, psycho-education. You learn about * human development, * social and emotional skills, * the basics of Tibetan buddhist and tantric shaivist psychology. Second, you learn basic skills to organise your life and your social relations. * changing habits * non-violent communication * ask and give consent * taking ownership over your experience * thinking skills Third, you learn to connect with your body. * healthy diet * fitness and flexibility * energetic body * breathing techniques Underneath this preparation is the development of a healthy sense of self, the ability to regulate your emotions, and the meta-cognitive and collaborative skills to establish healthy, mature relationships. This level is in development and will be offered as separate weekends. You can start with level 1 without having finished level 0.
