radical kindness

Radical kindness

Innocent yet not naive

Vulnerable yet not fragile

Naked yet not self-conscious

Generous yet not sacrificial

Gentle yet not dull

Accepting yet not allowing

Serving yet not submitting

Embracing all my mind’s delusions

And killing them with kindness

In meditation, insight (emptiness) practice can take the form of radical kindness: staying kind in all circumstances because you can see the insubstantiality of insults, conflict, and perceived unsafety. However, this practice should not be confused with lack of assertiveness, unawareness of boundaries, people pleasing, conflict avoidance, masochism, or (suicidal) self-sacrifice. It's only a meditative practice when you remain absolutely non-reactive and your core essence is not affected, because you can see that nothing is really happening.

Disclaimer: only for advanced meditators.
