the inner frontier
Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino y nada más.
Caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace el camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante, no hay camino
sino estelas en la mar.
Antonio Machado
Traveller, your footprints are the road and nothing more.
Traveller, there is no road, the road is made by walking.
By walking the road makes itself, and when you look back
you see the path that no foot will ever tread again.
Traveller, there is no road, only a ship's wakes upon the sea.
Antonio Machado
The Inner Frontier is a program for young adults (ca 18–30) who are seeking themselves, their place in the world, and/or real, deep connections with fellow seekers. Through six weekends spread between September and May it aims to increase our self-understanding, sharpen our thinking and relational skills, and deepen the connection with our bodies, with others, and with nature. We imagine a mixed group of approximately 10 participants.
Alongside the core practices of House of the beloved (meditation, authentic presence, shadow work, and existential inquiry) you are invited to propose activities and to shape the structure of the Inner Frontier so that it fits (y)our existential needs as closely as possible.
This is not a workshop. It is a gateway to a deeper and more authentic way of living.
Who am I?
What's my place in this world?
Where do I belong?
What life fits me?
A welcoming word from co-organisers Joshua and Max:
Welcome journeyers!
Having trouble meaningfully orienting yourself in life? Are you losing yourself in hyper-stimulation, expectations of others or negative self-talk?
Feeling spiritually lost is common today, in a world growing out of its traditional religions, but craving the community and sense-making these same religions once created. This existential unease is intensified by the pressure society exerts on us towards efficiency and productivity at any cost, even the instrumentalization of ourselves and others.
But is productivity the ultimate goal? Productivity for which ultimate goal exactly? There is a lack of space to deeply ask these questions and a craving for the community and sense-making that traditional wisdom institutions once provided. Many feel existentially unsupported and disoriented.
This Inner Frontier is created by House of the Beloved - itself embedded in different wisdom traditions from Buddhist and Tantric to Philosophical and Mystic - with exactly those goals in mind: orienting and supporting you in your existential development. You’re invited to express your own way of being human, by exploring yourself, following beauty, thinking critically and experimenting radically alongside a true community.
The Inner Frontier supports you to become radically free. To facilitate that, HotB provides practices to truly focus, avoid distraction, connect deeply, reveal unconscious patterns and experiment with different ways of being human. This will allow you and the Inner Frontier community to self-organize to do anything from doing absolutely nothing to embarking on transformative adventures.
Possibilities are open and limitless: pilgrimage, rites of passage, artistic research, nature survival, visionary creation etc. By expressing what feels most alive in you, self-insight and transformation is guaranteed. Look directly at what you’re avoiding, scared or ashamed of; wander in poverty; fast in sensory deprivation; design intense rituals. What’s certain, in any case, is that the place through which you most intimately perceive the world will expand. Through this immersion in HotB you’ll transform alongside peers in ways that your mere existence becomes a radical embodiment of freedom.
If you resonate with this and want to get to know us, you are warmly invited to join on the 25th of June or 1st of July for an info-session that cuts right to the chase through practice, radical honesty, intimate connection and free exploration of what it means to be human.
4 core practices
The basis of the Inner Frontier are the four core practices of House of the beloved:

Meditation
...teaches you to “calm” the mind, so it “stays” where you want it to be, giving access to a penetrative insight into the essence of who you are

Authentic presence
...is the practice of forging deep connections by expressing your own way of being human, without censoring, without shame, just showing yourself as you are.

Shadow work &
attachment repair
... support you in making the unconscious conscious. By understanding our patterns, fears, unconscious beliefs, they start loosing grip over your life.
Existential inquiry
... is the systematic exploration, discovery, design, and expression of different ways of being human. It is an embodiment of your self-insights in dialogue with the society you participate in.

self-organised
The Inner Frontier is a self-organising community of existential seekers. Each member is welcome to propose activities, express needs, share lines of thought, create existential drama, and more. Together we shape the malleable, organic structure of the Inner Frontier into a continuous becoming of what we desire it to be. Think pilgrimage, rites of passage, artistic research, nature survival, visionary creation etc. Look directly at what you’re avoiding, scared or ashamed of; wander in poverty; fast in sensory deprivation; design intense rituals; and more.

testimonials
“I felt lost and disoriented until I stumbled upon House of the Beloved. This initiated a genuine personal journey of emotional rollercoasters, confrontations with myself and existential questions. I made a big and sometimes difficult commitment, but an intimate, nourishing and, in essence, very real one. The emotions, confrontations and questions are still present in me, but not as a burden, since I have found a true home with my best interest at its core. I imagine that many people are craving this intimacy, intensity and aliveness which I’ve been gifted by House of the Beloved.” -JS (26)
